****Update: Just thought I’d add an update to this and “re-post” it because I’d like the production schedule to remain fresh in everyone’s mind. Summer is officially here and we’ve already seen a significant uptick in business. We’ve also added several new agents this year and have more coming on board in the coming months. As we continue to grow, it becomes more and more critical that you are paying close attention to the production schedule and placing your orders according. We are a ‘just in time’ manufacturer so following the schedule is key if we are going to operate efficiently and smoothly. So, help us help you by following the schedule. The post below explains everything you need to know about our production schedule. There’s even a handy flow chart at the end that I highly encourage you to print out or save to your desktop for future reference. In advance I’d like to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to read this post and act on it accordingly.
Order/Shipping Dates
This post is not really about “What’s New”, but a refresher as to what product lines can ship on what days, relative to when orders are placed. We get quite a few calls & emails asking us, “When can my order ship if I get it in when?” We don’t mind answering those questions, but it might be easier for everyone if we went over the process again.
The chart below describes the various ‘Order’ and ‘Ship’ dates for each of our current product lines.
The ‘Order’ dates, (shown in ‘Yellow’), state “(Orders in by 10:30 am)”. It is best to get your orders in early (orders can be placed up to 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled cycle date). We do have limitations on the amount of product we can actually manufacture in a given cycle. If we reach that limitation during that day, and your order comes in after that limitation has been reached, your order would be pushed to the next manufacturing cycle for that product line.
The ‘Ship’ dates, (shown in ‘Grey’), reflect the earliest date that the order can ship relative to when the order was placed. This doesn’t mean you have to ship on that date, it could be a couple days later if that is your requirements.
For those of you who set up your own LTL shipping: If the order is to ship out on the date shown in ‘Grey’, please schedule your pickup between the hours of 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Scheduling the pickup earlier than 1:00 pm may result in the order not being ready. Scheduling the pickup after 3:30 pm may result in nobody being here to load the truck, as the warehouse generally shuts down at 3:30 pm.
One scenario not mentioned on the chart below has to do with orders which contain ‘Vinyl’ product. In an attempt to control our shipping costs, we will only be placing ‘vinyl’ orders to our vendor on Tuesday and Friday mornings, (we have to have these orders into our vendor by 10:00 am), The turn-around time on ‘vinyl’ product is basically 9 working days from the time the order is placed to the vendor until it is received by RedLine and ready for shipping. Please keep this in mind when planning your installs.
Also, please note, all orders (even those that only include hardware, HandiWall, or any other accessories) should be placed (and will ship) in accordance with the schedule.
