Software Videos Are in the Learning Center

Although the ‘Learning Center’ feature (on the menu bar above) has been around for some time on this blog, we really do not know how many of the agents are making use of it.

The intent of this feature was to provide agents, (existing and future), with a location on the web in which they could go to find answers to frequently asked questions.

This is still the intent of this feature and we, Redline, will be making a greater effort in maintaining this site.

Currently we are focusing on instructional videos for the two pieces of Redline software that the agents use…

  • RDS (RedLine Design Software)
  • RPM (RedLine Price Manager)

The videos for RPM have been available for quite some time now, but we are putting them into a different display format in hopes of making accessibility easier for the end user.

The videos for RDS have not been available on this site up until this point. Most of the videos now available actually came directly out of the RDS software package that the agents currently use, but there are also a couple of new ones.

One of the nice features of hosting this information on the web site is the ability to immediately make changes/additions/deletions available to you the end-user. I.E. an agent calls us looking for help on a specific issue within RDS. If we think the issue may be one that affects our other agents as well, we can simply put the issue/solution up on this site for everyone to share.

Reviews . . . Ask For Them

As you know when you place an order for Redline Garage Cabinets you are required to put the customers contact information.

One of the things we did a couple of years ago was put in an automatic follow up sequence that emails the customer about 3 weeks after the order is placed and asks the question “How did we do?”.

This gives the customer a chance to tell us and you how we did.

If they fill out the form and give you permission, it gives you a review that you can post on your website. Reviews are great social proof.

The reason I am mentioning this is because I was asked by one of the dealers “how come I don’t see many reviews coming through”. Well the answer is simple . . . most people don’t fill out the form. Seems like a simple answer, doesn’t it.

The way you can get more reviews is to let the customer know an email will be coming where they can give some feedback about the product and the project. If you prep them and ask them to fill out the form they will be much more likely to fill it out.

BTW – In the 2-3 years we have done this we have had 2 bad reviews. One was because the dealer didn’t return a phone call (he was in the hospital, I think that is a pretty good excuse), and honestly I don’t remember the reason for the second but it seems like it was something similar. Bottom line is don’t be afraid of the reviews. In the coming months they are going to become more and more valuable. Encourage your customers to fill them out.

When the customer fills out the review you will immediately get an email letting you know the results of the review.
